Photo ID on delivery
Our driver will ask to see photo ID for every delivery containing alcohol. This is not discretionary and it is not a judgement about how old you look.
## What counts
- An Australian driver licence or learner permit
- The **Service NSW Digital Driver Licence**, shown live in the Service NSW app
- An Australian passport, or a foreign passport
- A NSW Photo Card, or the equivalent from another state
- A Proof of Age card issued in Australia
The ID has to be current and carry a photograph and a date of birth.
A digital licence has to be the real thing in the app, where our driver can refresh it and watch it animate. **A screenshot is not a digital licence** — neither is a photograph of a card, a photocopy, a scan, or an expired document, and our driver will not accept any of them.
## When we will not hand the order over
The driver will refuse the delivery if:
- Nobody can produce acceptable photo ID
- The person receiving it appears to be under 18
- The person receiving it appears intoxicated
- We are asked to leave it unattended, or with someone who will not show ID
Refusing supply in these circumstances is an obligation, not a choice, and the driver has our full backing to do it.
## What happens to your money
**Nothing is lost by a first refusal.** The order comes back to us and we will contact you to arrange another attempt. The first redelivery is free; after that a $9.95 redelivery fee applies, because the run has to be paid for twice.
If we cannot deliver it at all, we refund the goods in full and retain the delivery fee for the attempt that was made.
**Where an order is refused because someone was intoxicated, under 18, or buying on behalf of someone under 18, we refund the goods and do not re-attempt that order.** Refusing supply is an obligation we take seriously, and we would rather return your money than find a way around it.
## Why
It is against the law to sell or supply alcohol to, or to obtain alcohol on behalf of, a person under the age of 18 years. Our packaged liquor licence is LIQP700301260, and a delivery handed over without that check puts it at risk.
