Why we stock it

A high-rye mash bill - roughly a third rye against the ten to fifteen per cent most Kentucky bourbon uses - which makes it drier and sharper.

We stock it because rye is the other lever a bourbon distiller can pull and this is the clearest example of it on the shelf, sitting directly opposite the wheated Maker's Mark.

Bulleit Bourbon is a Kentucky bourbon whiskey whose high-rye content and iconic frontier inspired bottle is a favourite among bartenders and mixologists across the world. Bulleit is especially high in rye content, giving it a bold, spicy character with a distinctively smooth finish. The subtlety and complexity of Bulleit Bourbon comes from its unique blend of rye, corn and barley malt, along with special strains of yeast and pure Kentucky limestone filtered water. Bulleit Bourbon is a medium amber in colour with gentle spiciness and sweet oak aromas. It's mid-palate and smooth tones of maple, oak and nutmeg are followed by a long, dry and satiny finish with a light toffee flavour.
