Why we stock it

Japanese whisky became expensive and scarce, and a good deal of what arrived to fill the gap was never made in Japan at all. This is the real thing - blended by Suntory from malt at Yamazaki and Hakushu and grain from Chita, all of it their own.

We stock it because it is the bottle we hand anyone who says they do not like whisky. Soft, lightly floral, with no smoke and no heat to argue with. The 24-faceted decanter does not hurt when it is going to someone as a gift.

Suntory's flagship blend, bringing together malt whiskies from Yamazaki and Hakushu with grain whisky from Chita. There is no age statement: the blend is built for balance rather than to showcase a number, which is the argument Hibiki has always made.

Honey, candied orange peel and white chocolate, with a thread of Mizunara oak incense underneath. Gentle and rounded, which makes it both a good introduction to Japanese whisky and a reliable gift. The 24-faceted bottle represents the hours of the day and the seasons of the old Japanese calendar.
