Why we stock it

Made by the Perrin family of Chateau de Beaucastel in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, from cinsault and grenache grown around the southern Rhone. The chickens on the label have been there since 1970.

We stock it because it is number two in the state and because it is the least expensive wine on this shelf made by a family whose top wine sells for two hundred dollars - the same cellar, the everyday bottle.

Quantity

Delivery Sydney metro. Same-day dispatch on orders placed before 2pm.

From the Perrin family of the southern Rhone, better known for Chateau de Beaucastel. La Vieille Ferme is their everyday label and has been a benchmark for value French wine for decades.

Pale salmon in colour, dry, with red berry and citrus fruit and a fresh, clean finish. Provencal in style rather than sweet. Serve well chilled with grilled fish, salads, charcuterie, or simply on its own.

    Dom Perignon Rose

We stock it because it is the top of the gifting range. At this price the buyer is not comparing bottles, and there are perhaps three names that qualify.

    Tread Softly Rose

We stock it because it is number six in the state and it is the only line in this entire range whose argument is something other than price, grape or place - and because that argument is checkable, which is the test everything on this site has to pass.

    Tatachilla White Admiral Rose

We stock it because it is number five in the state and the cheapest rose here that is not a leftover, and because it holds the entry price point in a category where the entry price point does most of the volume.

    Upside Down Rose

We stock it because it is number four in the state, and because rose is bought for a table of people more often than for one person - the price per bottle matters more here than it does anywhere else in this range.
