Why we stock it

Matured in American bourbon barrels then finished in European Oloroso, in the foothills of the Himalayas where the temperature swing does the work.

We stock it because Indian single malt is the most interesting thing happening in whisky at the moment, and Rampur is one of the reasons why.

Distilled at Rampur in the Himalayan foothills of Uttar Pradesh, matured first in American bourbon barrels and then finished in European Oloroso sherry casks — the two casks the name records.

Bourbon oak gives vanilla and orchard fruit; the sherry finish adds dried fig, nuts and a spiced, slightly leathery depth. Smooth and quite rich, and the finish runs longer than the price suggests.
