Why we stock it

The old-vineyard selection at San Polo, on the southern side of the Montalcino hill. Brunello is Sangiovese alone, held for years before release by law.

We stock it because Brunello is the benchmark for Italian Sangiovese, and the single-vineyard selections are where it gets serious. This is the top of our Italian range.

Brunello di Montalcino is Sangiovese from the hills south of Siena, and the rules require years of ageing before a bottle can be released. Vignavecchia is the old-vineyard selection at San Polo, an estate on the southern side of Montalcino run with a focus on low intervention.

Serve at 16-18 degrees in a large glass, and give it an hour open or decant it. Built for slow-cooked beef, game, aged pecorino and truffle dishes. 750ml bottle.
