Melbourne wheat and malt whisky matured in Australian red wine barrels, which is Starward's whole argument and the reason it does not taste like anything Scottish.

We stock it because it is the most drinkable Australian whisky at the price, and because the red wine cask is a genuinely Australian idea rather than an imported one.

Made in Melbourne from two grains — malted barley and Australian wheat, distilled separately — then matured in barrels that previously held Australian red wine. Two-Fold refers to the grains; the wine barrels are what make it taste the way it does.

Red berry fruit, vanilla and soft spice, with a light body and no smoke. Approachable, distinctly Australian, and inexpensive enough to mix without feeling wasteful.
