Why we stock it

The most recognised single malt in the world, and recognisable for a reason: pear, a little oak, nothing to frighten anyone.

We stock it because it is where a great many people start, and starting somewhere reliable matters more than starting somewhere fashionable. If you are buying a first bottle of single malt, this one will not embarrass you.

Speyside's benchmark single malt, distilled at Dufftown by William Grant & Sons — still family-owned, five generations on. Twelve years in a mix of American and European oak, then married in oak tuns before bottling.

Fresh pear and green apple, soft malt and a clean oak finish. Nothing about it is difficult, which is why it has introduced more people to single malt than any other bottle. Good neat, and forgiving enough for ice.
