Why we stock it

Finished in barrels that previously held Irish stout, which sounds like a gimmick and mostly is not - it leaves cocoa and hops on the finish.

We stock it because it is genuinely different rather than differently packaged, and because it converts people who thought they had Jameson worked out.

Part of the Caskmates series, which began when Jameson lent barrels to a local craft brewer and then took them back. This one is finished in casks that previously held Irish stout.

The Jameson character is still underneath — soft, sweet, triple-distilled — with cocoa, coffee and a faint hoppy bitterness laid over it by the stout. Unusual without being a novelty.
