La Grande Dame honours Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin, who took over the house at twenty-seven in 1805 and invented the riddling table that made clear champagne possible. The cuvee is built on grand cru pinot noir, the grape the house has always led with.

Structured and generous at once — ripe orchard fruit and citrus over a toasted, creamy base, with the firm backbone pinot gives. Serve cool in a white wine glass rather than a flute. It handles food comfortably, from seafood to roast poultry.
