Why we stock it

From the Hunter Valley house founded by George Wyndham, who planted what is generally accepted as Australia's first commercial shiraz in 1830.

We stock it because it is number eight in the state, and because the bin numbers are the reason a lot of Australians know how to ask for a red wine at all.

Quantity

Delivery Sydney metro. Same-day dispatch on orders placed before 2pm.

BIN 555 is one of the longest-running shiraz labels in Australia, and its consistency is the point — you know what you are getting every year. Wyndham Estate traces back to George Wyndham, who planted some of the first commercial shiraz in the Hunter Valley.

Ripe plum and blackberry with vanilla and a hint of spice from oak maturation, soft through the middle and easy to drink. A reliable weeknight red and a safe bet for a crowd. Good with pizza, burgers or a roast.

    Brokenwood Graveyard Shiraz

We stock it because the fine Australian red range cannot be all Barossa and Coonawarra. Graveyard is the Hunter's entry in that conversation, and it is the wine Hunter drinkers come looking for by name.

    d'Arenberg The Dead Arm Shiraz

We stock it because McLaren Vale deserves a place in the fine shiraz range alongside Barossa and Clare, and at this price Dead Arm is one of the best-value serious reds on the list.
